Shakhtar Donetsk Stadium - Euro Ukraine 2012

Set within the beautiful surroundings of Leninsky Konsomol Park, this stunning new home of FC Shakhtar will become a new symbol for the city of Donetsk providing an unforgettable match experience for spectators. The bowl design offers a high degree of comfort and good viewing standards. Immediately adjacent to the seating areas are a range of facilities designed to meet all requirements of the spectators.
The stadium's design will meet the most recent internationally recognized safety standards as well as the codes and standards of Ukraine.

The stadium's conceptual design has been developed to meet the specific requirements of the club for a natural playing surface, a seating capacity for 50,000 spectators, a stadium that qualifies for UEFA 5-Star status, VIP suites with segregated viewing areas, VIP underground parking and additional facilities such as club museum/visitor attraction center, club shop, cafeteria and a health club.

The roof will include a large area of translucent sheeting material that will improve daylight and sunlight penetration to help promote good natural turf growing conditions. In addition, large open areas will be incorporated in the perimeter of the lower tier concourse to provide cross ventilation of the pitch. The external elevation of the building will provide a seamless glazed facade and a high degree of transparency to the exterior of the building. The stadium will combine the elegance of form with simplicity in materials. It will be a landmark stadium for world-class players and worldwide audiences.

The contract for the construction of the Shakhtar Donetsk Stadium shall be completed in 2008.
